The Parable Of The Talents

March 11, 2009 at 9:43 am (CathTech 1)

This Parable is so very relevant to your lives.

Q1) What do you understand as its message?

Q2) Which man are you and why? Give specific examples

A1) From this parable I drew the message that if you are scared of what you may lose rather than optimistic about what you could gain you won’t be looked upon with the same respect as somebody who doubles his money.

A2) O would be the second man because I do what I can with what i have got, Like in many projects I usually don’t play a major role in the final product but I “give my all” and contribute what I can to my group.

What current real life story do you think could be used as a parable to teach a specific beatitude for Christian followers?

“What current real life story do you think could be used as a parable to teach a specific beatitude for Christian followers?”

I think a current story that could double as a parable is the Victorian Bushfires. I think this portrays the same message as “The Good Samaritan” through the people who had lost everything and those who help without asking for anything in return.

“If you were given the opportunity to write a chapter for the bible what would you write about? What messages would you want your readers to take away?”

If I were to write a chapter of the bible I think I would write more about Jesus’ life after resurection because I don’t think many people know a lot about how he lived out his life after the ressurection.  I guess the message would be along the same lines as the other chapters but teaching people about Jesus’ life more.

What If The Bible Was Never Written?

February 9, 2009 at 8:51 am (CathTech 1)

This topic poses several arguments because a life with no bible would be alien to all of us. It is hard to imagine a world with no commandments, no gospels, no prayers but this poses another question, if there was no bible, how would we know anything about how God wants us to live our life. There could quite possibly be no religion at all as nobody would know who to worship, how to worship or what their god wants them to do with their life
